Stunt kites awe audience at Guanyinshan
The Xiamen stop of the annual Asian Stunt Kite Invitational Tournament and the Xiamen International Kite Festival kicked off last Saturday at Guanyinshan beach.
The two-day event featured a display of huge inflatable soft kites as well as the Asian Stunt Kite Invitational Tournament and a stunt kite show.
Nearly 30 teams participated in the event. Attendees included the Beijing Kungfu Team, which has gained international renown over the past decade. Other participants included the Dalian Fierce Wind Team, which has won multiple domestic kite competitions.
Joint sponsors of the Xiamen International Kite Festival include the Chinese Kite Flying Association and the Secretary Office of Xiamen International Ocean Week.
Event organizers included the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Sports, the Siming District Government and Xiamen Daily.
