BRICS PartNIRIC signs think tank agreement with Huaqiao University

The Xiamen Leading Group Office for the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center (PartNIRIC) joined on July 21 with Huaqiao University’s College of International Relations to sign a think tank cooperation agreement.

The agreement includes pledges to coordinate in the areas of policy consultation, development research projects and other forms of research.

Signatories of the agreement included Huang Feng, executive deputy director general of BRICS PartNIRIC’s Xiamen Leading Group Office, and Lin Hongyu, dean of Huaqiao University’s College of International Relations.

Huaqiao University is a member of  the China Council for BRICS Think Tank Cooperation and one of the earliest research institutions in the Chinese mainland to conduct BRICS-specific research. Mr. Lin noted that the university has a wealth of overseas resources and a long track record of well-regarded research.

Mr. Lin also noted that the new think tank agreement will help  Huaqiao University and BRICS PartNIRIC to pool resources and to initiate a host of research projects.

Mr. Huang said that the agreement aims to yield insightful and innovative results and to provide a reference source for decision makers in advancing the center.

Mr. Huang added that the agreement will help to promote the commercialization of research results and to facilitate the development of the BRICS innovation center.
