The Xiamen Leading Group Office for the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center hosted a three-day training program that kicked off on May 25. The in-person event focused on the relationship between local enterprises and the BRICS market. It featured a case study examining how Huawei transformed into a global company.

Program invitees included local enterprises with an interest in investing in BRICS or BRICS Plus countries. Other attendees included enterprise managers currently conducting business in those countries.

Office representatives said that the goal of the training was to help local enterprises understand international markets and to develop a business model in which domestic and international sales reinforce each other.

The training program included sessions on global strategy and the exploration of overseas markets, cross-cultural communication and management, foreign investment risks and project financing as well as new opportunities and challenges created by the so-called new industrial revolution, which is defined by the increasing importance of interconnectivity, automation, machine learning and real-time data.

BRICS innovation center representatives said that future efforts by the center will include assisting local colleges and universities to develop enterprise training bases that can provide online and in-person courses on modern industry, business environment and investment factors. A series of training bases that improve BRICS industrial capabilities is an important goal for the BRICS innovation center, according to center officials.
