Tong’an New City
The core area of Tong’an New City covers a total area of about 18 square kilometers and has a population of about 220,000. It is mainly designed for the industries of commercial services, seaside tourism, sports and leisure.
1) The central commercial and leisure zone is the essential cultural core of Tong’an New City and is expected to become a cultural and artistic exchange center, a cultural, tourism and leisure mall as well as an important cultural industry display and training base of Xiamen.
(2) Under the concept of “Canal City”, Bingzhou Canal City Commercial Street is designed as a unique “Venice-style” residential district and commercial street.
(3) Vacation hotel zone is designed to become a topnotch cluster of vacation hotels based on the Tong’an bay area, artificial beach and surrounding resources.
