First Xiamen International Cycling Tournament wraps up

The first Solux Xiamen International Cycling Tournament got underway in Huli District of the coastal city of Xiamen on November 5.

 
A total of 173 cyclists from twenty-six teams around the world gathered on the beautiful Gaoqi Corniche to compete in the race.

 
The one-day racing has four races on a circuit of four kilometers: Elite Men’s Road Race (40km, road bike group), Elite Men’s Road Race (32km, mountain bike group), Men’s Open Race(28km, road bike group), Women’s Open Race (24km, mountain bike group).

 


Chinese cyclist Han Xuxiang from RTS-Monton Racing Team seized the title in the elite men’s road cycling group. Zhang Li from QUICK cycling team won the men’s road cycling group, Dong Yanxia from Hebei Giant Bicycles the women’s mountain bike group, and Huang Guanghong from 24 BIKE the men’s mountain bike group.

 
Dong told reporters that riders were very satisfied with the track and the surroundings. “The track is close to the coastline with great views of the blue sea and  beautiful landscape,”she added.

 
As a high profile international event, the cycling race is expected to enhance the city’s reputation across the world.

 
The first Xiamen International Cycling Tournament was sponsored by Solux and hosted by the Huli Dianqian Sub-District and Xiamen Network.
