Xiamen BRT launches new services: One stop and two lines

On October 15, Xiamen BRT Gaoqi Airport Station debuted two newly-added lines: line 8 and airport shuttle bus B5 officially started services.

The new services of line 8 and B5 connect Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, Xiamen Railway Station, and Xiamen North Railway Station; three comprehensive transport hubs in the city, creating a three-dimensional transport system.

The line 8 runs between the airport and the No.1 Wharf to relieve congestion in the rush hour on the route between the Xianhou and Caitang BRT stations.

During the morning rush hour on weekdays, the line starts from the No.1 Wharf between 7:10am and 9:16am and from the Gaoqi Airport between 7:00am and 9:00am.

During the evening rush hour on weekdays and Sundays, it starts from the No.1 Wharf between 5:10pm and 7:06pm and from the Gaoqi Airport between 4:30pm to 7:30pm.

The B5 shuttle bus runs between the BRT Gaoqi Airport Station and the airport's Terminal 3 to facilitate visitors getting to the Terminals 3 and 4. It runs from 7am to 7pm and the fare is ten yuan, which can be paid by the city’s E-Tong card, WeChat Pay, or Allipay.

The BRT Gaoqi Airport Station is located on the west side of the intersection of Fangzhong Road and Huandao Boulevard. With a total floor area of about 26,000 square meters, it is a three-story parking building for public buses, which features a variety of facilities and services including vehicle maintenance, car washes, and office buildings.
