Historic buildings to earn "identification cards"

The municipal planning authorities recently stated that the city of Xiamen meets the conditions for appointment as a national historical and cultural city, with multiple historic buildings in Xiamen now having unique “identity cards”
Local areas that have earned historical or cultural landmark designation include Gulangyu, a World Cultural Heritage site, as well as Jimei Village, Tong'an Old Town, Zhongshan Road, and the Xiagang area.
The city plans to expand the number of local landmarks to earn official designation, potential candidates including the Xiangdian Ancient Dwelling House, Huaqiao New Town, Haicang Xin'an, Xiayang Red Brick Residence, and the Xiang'an Lutang Ancient Village.
