The Xiamen Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone Phase I International Sci-Tech Innovation Center — a key industry project in Xiamen FTZ — achieved structural topping-out on May 29. It is expected to be operational by 2026.

The project, which has a total investment of 369 million yuan ($ 51.3 million) and a gross floor area of 74,000 square meters, officially commenced construction in August 2024. It will include a port operations building, headquarters facilities, and commercial service supporting facilities.

The project will now proceed to the curtain wall installation and interior finishing stages, while investment promotion efforts are being accelerated simultaneously.

Moving forward, Xiamen will focus on accelerating the development of its Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone by concentrating on aviation-supporting industries including aircraft maintenance and manufacturing, international logistics and distribution, and commercial trade services, as well as high-tech sectors such as next-generation information technology and intelligent equipment manufacturing.
