According to the Gaoqi Immigration Inspection Station of Xiamen Border Inspection, Xiamen's international ports handled more than 300 inbound and outbound flights and vessels, up 35 percent year-on-year, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. The totals include 50,000 passenger trips, up 20 percent.

 

Mainland residents traveling abroad drove the holiday travel surge. Other categories include Taiwan travelers visiting for family reunions and international tourists arriving via cruise ships.

 

The holiday ran from May 31 through June 2. The peak day was May 31, which included nearly 18,000 passenger crossings.
