The vessel ZIM CONDOR, fully loaded with machinery, construction materials, footwear, and apparel, departed from the Xiamen International Container Terminal on May 17. This marked the official launch of ZAT, Fujian province's first premium direct shipping route to Ecuador.

As of April this year, Xiamen Port had launched 142 international trade routes, including two South America routes connecting 11 ports across five Latin American countries (of which three are South American countries). The newly opened ZAT route marks Xiamen Port's third South America route.

The ZAT service has deployed a fleet of 11 vessels with capacities ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 TEUs, operating on a fixed weekly schedule. This route reduces transit time between Fujian and South America's west coast by at least seven days, currently holding the record as Fujian's fastest container shipping route to Latin America.

This route prioritizes the transportation of high-value commodities including NEVs, mechanical equipment, and construction materials to Latin America, along with cross-border e-commerce cargoes. It also accepts bookings for special containers including DG (dangerous goods) and reefer containers.

By comprehensively meeting the diversified demands of China-Latin America trade, it has established a transpacific "golden corridor" for premium products manufactured in Fujian and surrounding regions to access global markets.
