Xiamen, located in Southeast China's Fujian Province, has launched a tourism carnival to celebrate the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on February 12th. From February 5th to 13th, a tourism extravaganza with more than 600 diverse cultural and tourism activities is taking center stage.

During the Spring Festival holiday, Xiamen saw a surge in tourism, with "Xiamen Travel" becoming a trending term online. Not only are domestic tourists flocking to the city in large numbers, but international visitors are also choosing Xiamen as their top destination to experience traditional Chinese New Year festivities. The city has left many visitors full of praise and a deep impression.

To accommodate staggered travel plans, Xiamen is launching the 2025 Lantern Festival Tourism Carnival, featuring exciting amusement parks, spectacular lantern exhibitions, interactive performances, and a showcase of traditional festive arts and crafts for global tourists.

On the night of the Lantern Festival, the carnival will feature a six-hour "2025 Colorful Lantern Night" event at the square of Xiamen Horticulture Expo Garden in Jimei District. Attendees dressed in traditional Hanfu attire can receive lanterns for free.

In addition to the Lantern Festival market, the "2025 Colorful Lantern Night" event will feature a ceremonial lighting event, a circus show, and a laser show illuminating the night sky. Traditional performances such as the long-awaited Taiping Drum Dance, auspicious Harvest Dance, and New Year Ribbon Dragon will also be part of the procession. Nearly 1,000 international tourists from various overseas travel groups visiting Xiamen will be invited to join the festivities.

Furthermore, Xiamen's scenic spots and cultural landmarks will host activities such as the Lantern Festival Children's Play Season, the National Trendy Fashion Design Exhibition, and the "Prosperity in the Year of the Snake" Entertainment Show, all in conjunction with the carnival events. Lantern Festival-themed performances will be staged in various theaters, and districts across the city will present exciting events like the "Lantern Festival Folk Culture Festival", organized by cultural and tourism departments.

Meanwhile, cultural institutions at all levels will organize community-level events such as "Lantern Festival Cultural Fun for the Community," allowing locals to celebrate the Lantern Festival alongside tourists and experience the festive joy right in their own neighborhoods in Xiamen.
