City officials announced last week plans for the annual Cross-Strait Spring Festival Fireworks Show at Huangcuo beach. This year’s show will begin on January 29, the first day of the Lunar New Year. Zhongshan road will also host a daily New Year street performance from January 29 through February 4. 

Bay Park will host a New Year Lantern Festival that runs from January 26 through February 12 (Lantern Festival). Additionally, the Silver City Arts Show will kick off on January 18 in Tongan as a part of the area’s Ancient City Lantern Festival. 

Local authorities also announced that its Explore Siming program will offer subsidies of up to 200 yuan per night for hotel and homestay guests during the Spring Festival travel season. 

Explore Siming will also offer subsidies that reduce the price of tickets to multiple A-level scenic spots to one yuan. And five state-owned A-level attractions will offer free admission to students with valid identification. The participating sites include Xiamen Botanical Garden, Fort Hulishan and the Chengyi Technology Exploration Center.
