Serbia deepens cooperation with China at Xiamen trade fair
This is the first time for Momirovic to take part in CIFIT and his fifth time visiting China.
From 2014 to 2023, Serbia received record inflows of investment from Chinese investors, totaling more than $6.1 billion. China and Serbia signed a Free Trade Agreement in October 2023, which came into force on July 1, 2024. It is expected to bring significant benefits to both countries and further boost exports of Serbian agricultural and industrial products.
Momirovic mentioned that CIFIT plays an immense role in promoting international investment, and that Serbia has used its time at the event to invite Chinese businesses and companies to invest more in the country.
When it comes to expectations for future cooperation areas between China and Serbia, he stated that Serbia looks forward to intensifying exchanges with China in all areas and at all levels, including infrastructure, new energy, innovation, artificial intelligence and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
To this end, Serbia has agreed to build a Serbia-China Industrial Park in order to attract more investment from Chinese companies. Work on the park has already begun and is being presented at CIFIT.
