The finals of 2024 Xiamen "Little Diplomat" English Speech Contest is set to kick off at Fanghu Campus, Xiamen Shuangshi Middle School of Fujian on May 25th, 2024.

A total of 242 students from across the city will compete in the final competition, which consists of four categories: Primary Group A (Grade 4 and below), Primary Group B (Grade 5-6), Junior High and Senior High.

Topics for the final competition and the order of contestants' appearance will be announced at an online livestream at 2:30 pm on May 22.

In final rounds, contestants will compete in a three-minute keynote speech , followed by a Q&A quiz related to foreign affairs knowledge and etiquette.

The awarding ceremony is scheduled to be held at the same venue on 3:30pm on May 25th.

According to the organizing committee, the preliminary rounds of the event have been held this March and April. Contestants submitted videos recording their speeches with assigned topics of "I love Xiamen’s  (places, foods, people,...)" for the primary groups, and "The beautiful Xiamen in my eyes" for junior and high schools.

Themed "Ode to China with a shared future", the "Little Diplomat" event is aiming to cultivate the cross-cultural communication skills of primary and secondary school students in the city and enhance the internationalization of Xiamen's education.

The 2024 Xiamen "Little Diplomat" English Speech Contest  is hosted by the Xiamen Municipal Education Bureau, and organized by the city’s official website xmnn.cn, and the city’s English portal website xmenglish.cn.
