Koji Yabuta, general manager of the Panasonic Avc Networks Xiamen Company, announced plans recently to relocate a camera production line from Malaysia to Xiamen this year. The move will increase the company's presence in the region.

Established in 1993 in the Xiamen Torch High-tech Zone, PAVCX is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan's Panasonic Corporation.

The local company is a significant hub for the production of digital cameras, lenses and other optical products for a worldwide market.
