Xiamen's commerce bureau recently announced a strategic agreement with Global Sources. The agreement is part of the city’s Brand Xiamen initiative, which is designed to promote local companies globally.

Global Sources first foray into publicizing Xiamen will occur at IFA Berlin, an industrial exhibition in Germany this September.

City officials added that Brand Xiamen includes plans to participate in a number of major overseas exhibitions, including Fair Birmingham, Foodex Japan (Tokyo), Marmomac Verona, Thaifex (Bangkok) and Textillegprom (Moscow).
