Travel service platform Ctrip last week reported that recent online searches for destinations for escaping winter weather increased by more than 20 percent compared with the same period in 2019.

Xiamen was among the most-searched domestic cities for warmer weather in November.

Local hot spring resorts are cited as one of the many factors favoring winter visits to Xiamen.
