The National Bougainvillea Germplasm Resource Repository at the Xiamen Botanical Garden officially opened last weekend. The repository hosts the most extensive collection and display area for bougainvillea varieties in China.

The repository's garden is located near the north gate of the botanical garden. The repository is home to more than 420 varieties of bougainvillea.

The garden's core display area covers more than 20,000 square meters and features nearly 200 varieties of ground-planted bougainvillea.
