The city of Xiamen recently released its annual catalogue of officially recognized professional qualifications. The current list includes 75 international professional qualifications covering 14 industry fields such as planning, construction, teaching, project management, information technology and big data.

The catalogue includes items such as Hong Kong's Registered Professional Planner certificate, Macao's Urban Planner certificate and the LEED certificate issued by the U.S. Green Building Council.

City officials said that the codification of qualifications that receive official recognition is designed to build an internationally competitive talent recruitment and utilization mechanism and to encourage internationally qualified professionals to start businesses in Xiamen.
