The city of Xiamen last week began a trial program in which individuals who donate blood and stem cells can apply for a Xiamen Volunteer Blood Donation Honorary Card.

Benefits of the card include free access to a number of tourist attractions and public transportation.

Cardholders are also eligible for a free annual health examination.
