City officials recently announced plans for 20 key transportation projects, including railways, intercity rail transit, highways, provincial trunk highways and urban trunk roads.

The projects include a total investment of 18 billion yuan over the next three years.

The projects will collectively reduce travel times in southwest Fujian to 30 minutes between major coastal cities, 60 minutes between the administrative centers of inland and coastal cities, and 90 minutes between the administrative centers of every major city.
