Workshop on Marine Affairs 2019 held in Xiamen

As one of sub-forums for the 2019 World Ocean Week in Xiamen, the Workshop on Marine Affairs 2019 was held in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province on Nov 2.

With the theme of “Land-Sea Integration of Sea and Land for Sustainable Coastal Development”, the 2019 workshop focused on the sustainable development of coastal zones, supporting science and technology and further cooperation between countries along the “21st Century Maritime Silk”.

The workshop provided a regional platform for sharing experiences in capacity building and for cooperation among coastal states towards sustainable coastal development in the region especially in the context of climate change.

Experts, scholars and relevant marine management personnel from home and abroard such as the United States,Germany,the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia and other ASEAN countries as well as the United States and Germany were invited to share the policies, technologies and practices.

The Workshop on Marine Affairs 2019 wais hosted by Xiamen University, Fujian Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries, Ocean Space Planning Institute of China Ocean Development Foundation, and organized by Coastal and Ocean Management Institute (COMI) of Xiamen University
