A total of 86 outstanding high school graduates from Xiamen entered China’s military academies this year, including seven Air Force flight cadets, according to the city’s conscription office. The total sets a new record and Xiamen ranked first in Fujian in several indicators.

The admitted students come from the following high schools: Xiamen Number One, Xiamen Foreign Language School, Xiamen Shuangshi Middle School, Tongan Number One, Xiamen Number Six, Xiamen Number Two and Xiamen Jimei. Xiamen Number One led the city with 23 admissions, followed by Xiamen Foreign Language School with 14.
