The local Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism announced plans to roll out more than 3,000 cultural and tourism events this summer, featuring immersive performances, family-friendly educational programs and commercial district experiences.

Multiple shopping districts will be transformed into cultural and entertainment destinations. Participating sites include Xiamen Sea World Ocean Wonder and the Mahua Fun Age Renmin Theater on Zhongshan Road as well as the Magic Live performance venue at SM Mall. Attractions include live entertainment, children's plays, stand-up comedy and magic shows.

The city will also host 13 major concerts that are expected to attract nearly 200,000 music fans. The Gulangyu Music Festival officially opens on July 11 with vocalists including Liao Changyong and Shi Yijie as well as international organists.
