Recently China designated 39 cities as pilot zones for integrated development of the human resources service industry and manufacturing sectors, with Xiamen among them.

Currently, the city's talent pool totals 1.7 million individuals, including nearly 20,000 high-level talents and approximately 40,000 international students-turned-professionals.
