This year's five-day China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival opened last week in Xiamen with an opening ceremony, a red-carpet ceremony and an awards gala alongside 158 featured film screenings, 46 creator meet-and-greets, and forums. Complementary events included public screenings and cross-strait youth film exhibitions.

Local officials said that Xiamen is home to more than 2,600 media enterprises as well as dozens of dedicated media parks and comprehensive production service firms. Xiamen-produced works have dominated Fujian's output volume over the past five years, with the media industry generating approximately 20 billion yuan in revenue last year.
