The 25th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) opened on Sept 8 in Xiamen, Fujian province, with the United Kingdom featured as the guest country of honor. In service of this special role, the UK pavilion officially opened the same day.

Spanning over 400 square meters, the UK pavilion highlights key sectors driving the future of the British economy, including digital technology, clean energy and green infrastructure, medical innovation and life sciences. From a digital welcome zone to a display of cutting-edge British automotive design, the pavilion offers visitors a dynamic experience of the UK's creativity and industrial prowess.

As this year's guest country of honor, the UK has sent its largest-ever business delegation to CIFIT, with more than 100 companies and organizations from across the nation. This strong presence reflects the deepening economic ties between China and the UK. In 2024, the UK became China's second-largest investment destination in Europe and third-largest source of foreign investment.

Throughout the four-day fair, the UK government and its partners will host nearly 30 investment promotion activities targeting various industries, underscoring the country's position as one of Europe's leading destinations for international investment.

The UK will also collaborate with Chinese provinces such as Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Fujian to hold business forums and bilateral dialogues. These efforts aim to foster regional cooperation, promote two-way investment, and explore new opportunities in areas such as technology, green energy, and advanced manufacturing.
