Provincial officials announced last week that Xiamen's per capita area of sports venues now ranks first in Fujian. Xiamen also ranked among the top three cities nationally for similar cities. 

In recent years, Xiamen's rise to the top of the provincial list comes on the strength of its efforts to construct community-level sports venues and facilities as a part of the city's 15-minute fitness circle initiative.
