A batch of goods departed from Haitian Terminal in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone on June 27th aboard the "Silk Road Maritime" cross-border e-commerce express vessel, which is expected to arrive at Manila Port in the Philippines in just three days. This marks the official launch of the Xiamen-Southeast Asia "Silk Road Maritime" cross-border e-commerce express channel.

This new channel has integrated the first batch of 27 direct cross-border e-commerce shipping routes from Xiamen Port to Southeast Asia, achieving point-to-point coverage of ports in countries such as Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Viet Nam, and Thailand.

Among these, 11 are officially designated "Silk Road Maritime" routes, creating a high-efficiency, low-cost logistics corridor for e-commerce companies expanding into Southeast Asia.

To ensure the efficient operation of the channel, multiple Xiamen government departments have rolled out 17 supporting measures. These initiatives cover shipping route optimization, regulatory innovation, and infrastructure upgrades, with an expected improvement of over 20% in overall logistics efficiency for goods.

The newly launched channel seamlessly connects customs inspection sites, terminal operations, shipping routes, and destination ports, establishing a fully integrated, high-efficiency logistics "golden corridor". This achievement significantly elevates Xiamen's cross-border e-commerce service capabilities for Southeast Asia, empowering regional businesses to expand into international markets.

A representative from the relevant shipping company stated: "We will actively explore additional cross-border e-commerce shipping routes, particularly to Belt and Road countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Viet Nam, aiming to attract more e-commerce businesses to choose Xiamen Port as their gateway to international markets."

Data shows that Xiamen Port operates 53 Southeast Asia shipping routes connecting 26 ports in seven countries. In 2024, Xiamen's cross-border e-commerce import and export volume reached 35.78 billion yuan ($4.99 billion), marking year-on-year growth of over 50%.
