The "Maritime Silk Road" cruise route by Adora Cruises set sail from the Xiamen International Cruise Home Port on Dec 6, embarking on a 13-day maritime cultural exploration to promote cultural exchanges and tourism cooperation between Xiamen and countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

During the departure ceremony, Adora Cruises also announced that the Adora Mediterranea is planning to reintroduce the "Discover Maritime Silk Road Tour" departing from Xiamen in April 2025, offering a 13-day voyage exploring the cultures of five Southeast Asian countries.

The Xiamen Port Authority, Xiamen International Cruise Home Port Group, and Adora Cruises (Shanghai) Co Ltd have jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop Xiamen into a cruise economy hub.

Since the opening of the first "Maritime Silk Road" cruise route in 2016, Xiamen International Cruise Home Port has operated this thematic route 37 times, with a passenger throughput exceeding 120,000, making it one of the most experienced ports in China at operating the route.

Simultaneously, the Xiamen International Cruise Home Port concluded the 2024 cruise season. During this year, the home port planned for the spring-summer season (March 10-May 14) and the autumn-winter season (Nov 15-Dec 6), with over 84,000 passengers boarding cruises to travel to countries such as Japan and the Philippines. It efficiently facilitated the entry and exit of 43 cruise ships, marking an almost 80 percent increase year-on-year.
