Workers recently completed one of two tunnels between the Meifeng and Hongtangtou stations on the Jitong segment of the subway system’s Line Six. The second tunnel for the section is set for completion in October. 

Officials noted that this is the first tunnel section to be completed in the Jitong segment of Line Six.

The segment is the first to extend into the center of Tongan. It runs between Huaqiao University and the Tongxiang High-tech City. 

The 30-kilometer stretch of rail includes 17 stations. The first section of the segment covers 11 kilometers, six stations, seven tunnels and an entry-exit line.
