Preliminary results from this year's China International Fair for Investment and Trade indicate that participants inked 638 cooperative agreements with a total planned investment of 484.5 billion yuan.

Both the number of participating institutions and the total planned investment volume reached a five-year high.

Local Commerce officials announced that the Xiamen delegation signed 228 projects during CIFIT with a total investment of 101.4 billion yuan. The totals include 13 provincial-level projects with an investment of 32.2 billion yuan in fields such as electronic information, commercial circulation, new energy and financial service.

Foreign capital investment contracts announced by the Xiamen delegation totaled $2.4 billion, up 5.8 percent year-on-year.
