Ballastless track laying complete for Anhai bay's high-speed railway bridge

2022-08-11 15:22

Area officials last week announced the completion of the laying of ballastless track across the Anhai bay bridge for the Fuzhou-Xiamen-Zhangzhou high-speed railway.

The project is the first in China to use ballastless track on a cross-sea cable-stayed bridge for a high-speed railway.

The Anhai bay bridge stretches for more than 9.4 kilometers, including a span of 1.5 kilometers over the sea. The bridge will be able to accommodate trains at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour.

The new railway will reduce travel time between Xiamen and Fuzhou to less than one hour.
