City officials last week announced that a total of 125 major provincial projects with a collective planned investment of 23.3 billion yuan were currently under construction in January through April.

The projects have a collective 31.9 billion yuan in actual paid-in investment, up year-on-year by 7.5 billion yuan. Investment is more than 10 percent ahead of schedule.

Project updates include the capping of a series of buildings in the first phase of the Xiamen CATL Lithium-ion Battery Production Base, where mechanical and electrical installation and indoor decorations are now underway.

Progress was also announced on the section of the subway system's Line Six running between the Lindai West and Huaqiao University staions.

The primary structure of the Tongan campus of the Xiamen Number Six middle school was also completed in the first third of the year, as was the main structure of the Jimei branch of the Xiamen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital.
