Xiamen education officials announced last week that the city plans to complete a total of 76 construction projects for the city's kindergarten, elementary and secondary school system.

The projects will add a total of 80,000 seats to area schools. The projects are part of the larger five-year plan running through 2025 to add approximately 360 new schools and 320,000 seats to the local school system.

The totals include technical vocational schools. Construction recently topped out for the teaching facilities at Xiamen's Number Two Middle School campus in Jimei.

The entire complex is slated to include four classroom buildings, two student dormitories and a gymnasium.

This year's projects also include the renovation of two buildings at the Xiamen Experimental Primary School. The project is scheduled for completion in advance of the fall semester.
