The Changchun Space and Information Industrial Park recently hosted a ceremony to honor the upcoming launch of the Xiamen Science and Technology One satellite.

The 30-kilogram satellite is slated for launch next month. The multi-function satellite is designed to maximize carrying capacity while minimizing weight and cost.

Sensors aboard the satellite will be used to collect and transmit data for use in agriculture, natural resources management and emergency systems.
