On November 19, CATL and Xiamen University joined hands to establish the CATL Xiamen Institute of New Energy.

Relying on the 21C Innovation Laboratory and the Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory of CATL,  the Institute will participate in the planning and conducting of technological industrial projects in key sectors such as smart energy, energy storage technologies, high power devices, and next-generation power batteries.

The new energy industry is one of the emerging strategic industries of which Xiamen has put priority on cultivation and development.

In July and August this year, CATL successively established two companies in Xiamen, namely Xiamen CATL Technologies Co., Ltd. and CATL Electronic Services Co., Ltd.

While having insisted on deploying the industrial chain on innovation and innovated in industries in recent years, Xiamen attracts investment in target sectors, secures the investment with reinforced measures, and puts efforts on creating industrial clusters, thereby pushing the new energy industry to the middle- and high-end position in the global value chain.
