Aiming to build itself into a "strong ocean city" in an all-round way, Xiamen strived to develop the marine economy, which has been greatly driven by the scientific and technological innovation.

At present, Xiamen has built 23 public service platforms for the marine industry, with a total investment of 2.307 billion yuan. As the first marine entrepreneurship and innovation base in China, Xiamen Marine Entrepreneurship and Innovation Base further develops and expands some ocean-related innovation projects.

Xiamen's marine enterprises made jointly efforts to establish the "industrial innovation alliance", in which 107 units have joined. Moreover, Xiamen has continued to hold the fair for transforming marine scientific and technological achievements.

By 2019, 121 marine economic projects have been released and 141 projects have been signed, with a total investment of 4.994 billion yuan.
