Local authorities announced last week that the city has replaced consumer pickup for bottles of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) with free distribution of LPG containers throughout the city.

More than 100,000 users previously traveled to distribution centers to collect bottled LPG for residential use.

Xiamen is believed to be the first major domestic city to transition entirely to free delivery of bottled LPG.
