Third Xiamen NCP patient discharged from hospital
A 31-year-old man from Shishi became the third novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) patient to be cured in Xiamen when he was discharged Monday from the Xinglin branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University.
The individual developed NCP symptoms on January 17 and took a taxi from Shishi to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University on January 21, at which point he was transferred to the hospital's Xinglin branch for in-patient treatment and became the first confirmed NCP case in Xiamen.
The patient's temperature stayed within the normal range for more than a week before discharge. A pair of throat swab tests separated by a period of 24 hours showed the patient to be viral RNA negative.
