Wu Long, Deputy Consul of Canada in Guangzhou, visited the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Education on May 15 to strengthen educational cooperation with the Chinese city.

Lin Jiatian, executive deputy secretary of the educational working committee of the local municipal Party committee, briefed him on the current situation and the highlights of education in Xiamen during a meeting.

Lin said that the local educational bureau is looking to attract more high quality overseas schools and educational institutions to invest in Xiamen.

He hopes that the consulate general of Canada in Guangzhou will promote Xiamen in its home country and offer more cooperation and exchange opportunities between schools.

The two sides will also explore their cooperation in basic and vocational education as well as teacher training.

In addition, Wu visited Xiamen ITG Educational Group, where he showed great interest in operating schools with the Xiamen company.
