Young reporters attends Italian cultural lecture in Guanren Community
A lecture about Italian culture was held in the Guanren Community in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province on August 28th, 2019.
The lecture was given by Alessandra from Sardinia, one of the Italian islands, and attended by Xiamen Siming District Senior College students and young reporters from xmenglish.cn, the city’s English portal.
In a vivid way, Alex shared with the audience about Italian food, culture and customs. She also taught the audience some basic greetings in Italian and sang an Italian song to conclude the lecture.
After the lecture, young reporters interviewed Alex and some audience.
Alex said Xiamen is a beautiful city and she loves the food and the people. ” The city offers a lot of different things to do. I can' t wait to learn a bit more of Chinese in order to speak more with the locals,” she added.
Ms. Zhang, a resident in the Guanren Community, said the lecture is very great. She not only learned about Italian culture and also improved her English.
The young reporters also spoke highly of the event. “It’s a wonderful time. I really enjoy it. I would like to come again next time!” said Zheng Yuanhao, a young reporter.
The lecture is part of the “Let the Expats Show You the World” program, which is organized by Xiamen Boai Service Center and One World Project, a community service project. Its aim is to enhance exchanges and mutual assistance between expats and local residents.
