In the first half of the year, a raft of business ventures in Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian Province, have made striking achievements in flourishing markets both at home and abroad, seeing a rapid growth in output value and new orders.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a world-class cross-sea transportation project in South China's Guangdong Province, began operations recently after seven years of construction.
On the day of its opening, the electric buses developed by Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co Ltd started running along the cross-city link.
According to the company, the cross-city buses are the 5th generation of its King Long Jieguan model. They have 42 seats, eliminating standing areas to ensure passenger safety.
Since the start of the year, King Long has seen a continuous influx of orders, with its products not only selling well in the domestic market but also being exported to over 10 countries and regions, including Italy, Russia and Malaysia.
From January to June, the company's total sales of buses hit 22,900 units, marking a 22.96% year-on-year increase. Specifically, in June, the sales volume reached 4,750 units, a 13.2% increase compared with the same period last year.
Elsewhere, XJ (Xiamen) Intelligent Power Equipment Co Ltd reported significant growth in output value and newly signed orders in the first six months of the year, according to Liu Shili, chairman of the company.
From January to June, the company achieved an output value of 530 million yuan ($72.7 million), a 62% rise year-on-year, while newly-signed sales contracts exceeded 800 million yuan, representing a 30% growth year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Xiamen Pacific Container MFG Co Ltd has experienced continuous growth in container orders this year, according to Li Tao, general manager of the company.
From January to June, the company manufactured 24,278 standard containers, with its customized container business growing by 50% compared with the previous corresponding period.
"At present, our production schedule is booked until August, with all production lines operating at full capacity," Li said.
Xiamen Solex High-Tech Industries Co Ltd recently announced that it expects to achieve a net profit attributable of 200 to 230 million yuan for shareholders of the listed company in the first half of the year, representing a growth of 66.05% to 90.96% compared with last year.
The profit surge is attributed to the stable development in the Integrated Device Manufacturing (IDM) hardware section, the company's main business, as well as robust growth in its overseas operations.
Xiamen Tungsten Co Ltd has announced a net profit of 1.015 billion yuan for the period from January to June, marking a 28.29% hefty increase compared with the same period last year.
