Xiamen bridge player wins gold medal in 13th National Games

Xiamen bridge veteran Chen Yisheng and Shen Qing on behalf of the Fujian team won the gold medal of the Senior Pairs in the amateur bridge competition, according to a good news from the ongoing 13th Tianjin National Games. This  is not only the first gold that Xiamen has won in the amateur events of the National Games, but also the first gold medal for bridge that Fujian province had obtained in the National Games.

 
Huang Haiqing,  president of Xiamen Bridge Association said that Xiamen has held a number of bridge games in recent years, including Xiamen City Bridge Club League, various bridge championships and five "Channel Cup" bridge invitational tournaments. In addition,many secondary schools and universities have opened bridge courses.

 
Bridge is a sports game using 52-card deck. It is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around the table. It is an interesting card game which requires  wisdom and courage.Playing bridge is a pastime for many people in southern Fujian province.
