Local children's troupe graces CCTV

A children's performance troupe comprised of students from Xiangan's First Experimental Primary School and Xindian Town Haiwa Team recently performed on the CCTV broadcast of the annual National Children's Quyi Exhibition in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu.

The troupe performed a traditional comedy piece entitled Verbose Grandma during the event's closing ceremony on August 3. The troupe earned a gold medal at the national finals of the China International Youth Art Talents Competition for its performance. The group also performed their work on CCTV Children's Channel.

The National Children's Quyi Exhibition began in 2006 with offerings in locales such as Beijing, Jiangsu, Fujian and Sichuan. The event is now considered the largest annual collection of young participants in the country for artistic performances. The exhibition encompasses more than 150 programs in dozens of provinces. The annual finale included 65 troupes from across China.
