10th Cross-Strait (Xiamen) Industries Fair press conference held in Xiamen

The press conference announcing the 10th Cross-Strait (Xiamen) Industries Fair was held in Xiamen on November 2, 2017.

 

The organizing committee revealed that the fair, hosted by Taiwan Affairs Office of Central Committee of CPC, the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China and Fujian Provincial People’s Government and organized by Xiamen Municipal Government and the Taipei-based Asia-Pacific Cultural Creative Industry Association, will take place at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center between November 3 and November 6, 2017.

 

The annual fair, themed “A Continuous Line, Creative Future”, is the only cultural exchange activity named “Cross-Strait”, a comprehensive exhibition attended by cultural industries and institutions from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, aiming to strengthen cross-Strait cultural exchange and industrial cooperation.

 

This year’s event will be mainly held in the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center where 12 exhibition halls are divided into four sections, which cover an area of 73,000 square meters and provide 3,406 booths, to display crafts, creative designs, digital content and films and television programs, and cultural, creative and tourism products, said Huang Weizhou, deputy director of the fair ‘s organizing committee office.

 

He added that the event will be held at the same time in other twenty-seven sub-venues in the city’s leading cultural enterprises and cultural industrial parks, such as Xiamen Antique City, Xiamen Olympic Museum, HuiHe Stone Cultural Park, and Tong’an Film Studio City.

 

This year’s cultural fair first offers an exhibition area for craft masters from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to display their works and will hold an action, said Fu Guoqiang, executive deputy director of the fair’s preparatory office, adding that a portrait of Genghis Khan collected by Xu Boyi, a well-known Taiwanese collector, will be showcased. It is the first time for the 800-year-old picture to be displayed in the Chinese mainland.

 

According to Zhou Mingrong, the secretary-general of Asia-Pacific Cultural Creative Industry Association, a total of 907 Taiwanese exhibitors will participate in this year’s event, which is the same as last year.

 

The press conference was chaired by Deputy Director of the Provincial Government Information Office Lin Xianyuan, and attended by a number of reporters from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
