2018 WOW Commercialization Fair concluded in Xiamen

The 2018 Commercialization Fair for Marine Science & Technology Achievement, one of the most important events in this year’s international ocean week in Xiamen, successfully concluded at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center on November 4th.

During the fair 16 projects were commissioned, with a total investment of about 251 million yuan.

More than 100 sea-related companies, institutions, and groups from across the country displayed the latest cutting-edge marine scientific and technological achievements.

The fair attracted around 5,000 visitors, the highest numbers since the fair began, including foreign guests from over 30 countries and regions.

It is the first year for the fair to be held at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.

This year’s edition covers an exhibit area of 4,000 square meters and offers 140 booths.

The fair was divided into four sections, showcasing achievements and projects in marine bio-medicine, ocean-going vessels, high-end marine equipment, and high-tech marine services.

Alongside marine scientific and technological achievements, the sponsors also designed a series of side-events, including the launching ceremony of Xiamen Emerging Ocean Industry Innovation Alliance, the Connection and Exchange Conference of 2018 Training Workshop on ICM for ASEAN Countries, an experts interview,  a marine products promotion, and a roadshow of marine entrepreneurship. 

The fair was launched in 2014. The 2018 edition was sponsored by the Xiamen Southern Oceanographic Center, the Chinese Society of Oceanography, and the Oceans and Fisheries Bureau of Xiamen.
