Xiamen among China’s top 3 tourist destinations during 2018 CNY holiday

According to the statistics released by the Xiamen Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, Xiamen received a total of 2,615,800 tourists from home and abroad during the 2018 Spring Festival holiday, generating a tourism revenue of 2.92 billion yuan, up by 16.14% and 21.68% year-on-year respectively.  

 

Meanwhile, the latest report jointly released by China Tourism Academy, China National Tourism Administration and China's biggest online travel agency Ctrip, showed that Xiamen was ranked third on the list of the country’s most popular destinations during the week-long holiday.

 

569,400  vehicles visited Xiamen between February 15-20, up by 11.88% compared to the same period last year, said the local traffic department.

 

In addition, more than 50 Chinese-New-Year-themed tourism activities took place citywide, including a market fair event, rural tourism events, cultural tourism and temple fairs.

 

The consumption level of tourists visiting Xiamen was ranked second nationwide, reports Tongcheng Network Technology, a major online travel agency in Jiangsu province. Tourists who spent at least one night in the city spent an average of 2637.05 yuan per day, with 524.46 yuan for day visitors.
