Local authority announced recently that the city of Xiamen notched a high-value invention patent ownership of 25.2 per 10,000 people, 2.1 times the national average and 3.1 times the provincial average.

Fujian officials noted that Xiamen has ranked first in the province over the past three years in terms of creating and protecting intellectual property, according to an ongoing assessment program of the province's business environment.
