Over 300 foreign professionals had their first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine on August 6 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University, a designated vaccination medical institution for foreigners in Xiamen.

 
The vaccination went smoothly with the joint efforts of medical staff as well as local and expats volunteers.

 
The Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology (XMBST),the Administrative Committee of the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries,together, the Xiamen Foreign Professionals Services Center(XMFPSC)and the Xiamen Service Center for Foreign Professionals Guanren Community Branch jointly organized the group vaccination in order to help foreign professionals in Xiamen get vaccinated as soon as possible.

 
For those expats who cannot participate in the group vaccination, the XMBSC will offer a short video about individual vaccination appointments.

 
Local English-language portal xmenglish.cn will help produce the short video and Czech national Zuzana Pavlonova,service consultant of Xiamen service center for foreign professionals,will be the presenter.

 
Officials from the XMBSC said that they will organize the second group vaccination in three weeks.

 
In addition, the XMBST has also opened a 24/7 hotline dedicated to expats questions about local COVID-19 situation and vaccination.
